Menu Cash/Bank → Cash Accounts (`/definitions/cash-account`). Create and manage petty cash accounts with balance and currency. From history record Collection, Payment, and Cash Transfer (shared with Bank and Party ledgers).
Cash Accounts Overview
Cash Account under Definitions holds your petty cash — so day-to-day cash collections, payments, and transfers stay separate from bank ledgers but sync with the same Party and Dashboard money picture.
What Cash is for
- Path: Definitions → Cash Account (`/definitions/cash-account`)
- Create one or more petty cash accounts with currency and opening balance
- Open Cash Account - Transaction Details for the ledger
- Post Collection, Payment, and Cash Transfer from New Transaction or the card menu — same slips as Payment In / Payment Out
- Link receipts/payments to a Party and optional invoices
- See Cash on the Dashboard Account Details strip next to Bank
- Sibling of Bank — Bank adds multi-account + Other Bank Process; Cash stays flat petty-cash accounts; Remittance is on Party

Frequently asked
Cash vs Bank — which should I use?+
Use Cash for physical/petty cash. Use Bank for bank accounts (multi-account, IFSC/branch, Other Bank Process). Cash Transfer connects the two.
Does Cash have Other Bank Process?+
No. Cash New Transaction is Collection, Payment, and Cash Transfer only. Other Bank Process is on the Bank ledger.
